The Directional Drill Operator’s primary role is to implement all directional drilling plans and procedures, oversee all drilling operations, and ensure compliance to all drilling objectives. The Directional Drill Operator will be responsible for the setup and completion of drilling variable-sized underground holes and pulling back of the required conduit. This role is highly collaborative, requiring great attention to detail and exceptional communication skills.
As a Directional Drilling Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Setup and operate various directional boring equipment.
- A clear understanding of locating information, utility conflict resolution, and change as needed to meet objectives.
- Complete assigned projects including digging boring pit, directional boring, pulling back conduit, splicing conduit sections, pulling fiber, setting hand holes, backfilling, and core drilling.
- Ensure safety in work areas at all times according to required standards and assess performance in all drilling operations.
- Collaborate with various departments to manage workflow for all drilling projects.
- Oversee laborers and/or crew members’ work and monitor time usage and efficiency.
- Teach and mentor less experienced crew members and apprentices.
Clean, check fluid levels, and conduct a visual inspection of vehicle/equipment to ensure your vehicle/equipment performs at the highest efficiency and safety standards.
- Conduct post-job quality checks.
As an Underground Locator for Team PCD, you will play a vital role of identifying key Utilities along our intended bore to ensure a safe job completion. You’ll be responsible for Utility locating & concrete scanning using state of the art electromagnetic locators and Ground penetrating radar (GPR). Types of Utilities we locate: Electric lines (mains, service lines,
Site lighting and lines to exterior structures), Telephone lines, Water lines, Cable TV and other Cable lines, Gas lines, (steel or plastic) & Sewer and drain lines.
As a Underground Locator, you will be responsible for:
- Managing all projects to completion
- Adhering to all the safety guidelines to maintain the highest level of integrity
- Strong communication skills
- Analyzing and interpreting system information and data to provide effective resolution to complex jobs
- Ensuring work is verified to enable successful customer delivery
As a Laborer, you’ll serve as a key team member in helping to complete jobs in a timely fashion. In a fast pace, exciting construction environment, you’ll be asked to do whatever it takes to get the work done daily. Quite often these will be manual jobs that do not require training or formal education, although at TEAM PCD we look to build confidence with each completed job and strive to provide future growth opportunities within the organization.
As a Laborer, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing manual labor on job sites
- Working in a team environment to ensure timely job completions
- Uphold a high standard of safety, quality, and attitude
- Communicate with engineers, contractors, and subcontractors daily and maintain a positive professional relationship
- Willing to travel to new jobs sites on a weekly basis
